ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BRAHMA BULL ZOO TOY BLACK REAL FUR HIDE 1860's - 1900 VERY NICE
THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE BLACK
BRAHMA BULL
ONLY.
Antique toy Brahma Bull in a serious charging stance.  Stands upright.  Very good condition.
Bull is covered in real fur hide.  Probably cow hide which is made look to as though he has been in a few scuffles since his position appears ready for a fight.  Fur has been hand stitched onto body.  Stitches seem strong and are all intact.
Bull has glass eyes, hand painted horns, mouth and hooves.  Paint on one horn has small slit.

Bull stands approx. 5 1/2 inches tall and is approx. 8 inches from tail to horn.
These antique toys were expensive in the Victorian time period.  They were often purchased by the more wealthy families.  Research has dated them from 1860's to 1900 when taxidermy type items were popular.  Also have read they were possibly German made.
