SOLD OUT at the Perth Mint!
Get the COMPLETE, 5-coin silver dollar proof set of Native Australian wildlife in the new Discover Australia program - this year with an extremely limited mintage of only 1,500 sets total!
    The
    Discover Australia series
has been the cornerstone of the Perth Mint's numismatic collector coin offerings since its introduction with the
    First Discover Australia Program
in 2006. These exciting coins depict native animals, with the focus of the latest program being the unique wildlife of the Island Continent in all its glory! Talisman Coins and the Perth Mint (Australia's precious metals experts) are proud to bring you
    this latest Discover Australia program
    , starting with these
    pure
    silver dollars
    . Each
    animal
is presented in full, frosted cameo proof finish, against a backdrop of splendid color portraying its native habitat.
This luxurious five coin set is a
    complete collection
, containing each and every one of the five silver proofs issued this year in the
    Discover Australian Wildlife series
. The five animals featured this year are:
    Koala Bear
    Kookaburra
    Duck-Billed Platypus
    Emu (Flightless Bird)
    Kangaroo
    The Discover Australia Series
    Each
    Discover Australia
coin provides a gateway to explore the Land Down Under, as both its one-of-a-kind fauna and its unspoiled, majestic natural environment! Each proof-finish coin is encapsulated and handsomely displayed inside an elegant, luxury presentation case with a native Australian jarrah wood lid, protected by a full-color outer box. An individually-numbered certificate of authenticity is included. Jarrah is a species of eucalyptus tree found in the southwest of Western Australia. Because of its similar appearance to mahogany, jarrah is sometimes referred to as Swan River mahogany, after the river that runs through Perth.
    Please note
, the mint images of this beautiful proof coin do not do it justice. The fields are deeply mirrored, the relief devices are white-frosted cameo, and the deep, rich colors of Australia's outback are incredible!
    Technology Note
The Perth Mint of Australia employs its own proprietary colorization technology, in which the color is actually sealed on the coin. The vibrant hues and precise execution of the technology create a stunning, full-color portrait on each coin.
    Obverse
A frosted cameo portrait of each of five different, native Australian animals, set against a full color backdrop of their native habitats. The legends DISCOVER AUSTRALIA and each animal's name define the theme, while the legend 1 OZ 999 SILVER guarantees the weight and purity. The Perth Mint's "P" mint mark is also present.
    Reverse
    Her Majesty,
    Queen Elizabeth II
, in crowned profile facing right. This portrait, featuring Her Majesty wearing a tiara and pearl earrings, was executed by the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II and the denomination also appear.
    Packaging
The five coins are encapsulated inside an elegant, luxury presentation case with a native Australian jarrah wood lid, protected by a full-color outer box. An individually-numbered set of certificates of authenticity is included.
Jarrah is a species of eucalyptus tree found in the southwest of Western Australia. Because of its similar appearance to mahogany, jarrah is sometimes referred to as Swan River mahogany, after the river that runs through Perth.
